Holy Humor (Teaser)

Online through Hebrew College

Jews are known for having a unique sense of humor. The very first joke in the Torah—Isaac’s birth—offers an opportunity to discover how humor can shape our lives. During this free session through Hebrew College and open to all, we will explore the belief that tradition paired with humor can offer opportunities for spiritual and religious growth.

Free and open to the public. Register here.

Holy Humor (5 classes)

Online through Hebrew College

In this 5-session class, we will explore what makes things funny and what funny things make happen in the world (upper and lower!). We’ll draw on theories of humor and look at teachings from the Bible, the Talmud, the Zohar, and Yiddish literature as windows into holy humor and jumping-off points for practical exercises meant to help learners explore their funny bones.
